It takes video from an SDI or HDMI source into a supported computer recording workflow, making it useful for capturing footage from cameras and other compatible video equipment.

SDI And HDMI Capture

The legacy Mini Recorder provides one SDI video input and one HDMI input, with support for embedded audio. It is a capture device rather than a television tuner or standalone recorder, and requires compatible computer software to record incoming footage.

SD And HD Video Formats

Supported formats include standard-definition video, 720p up to 60 fps, 1080i up to 60 fields per second and 1080p up to 30 fps. Match the source output to a supported format before connecting. This model should not be confused with the newer UltraStudio Recorder 3G or Mini Recorder 12G.

Thunderbolt Powered Portability

The recorder draws power through its Thunderbolt connection, keeping the capture setup compact. Check the computer's Thunderbolt hardware, cable or adapter compatibility and the appropriate Blackmagic Desktop Video driver before purchase. A USB connection alone does not establish compatibility.

Check Your Capture Source

The HDMI input cannot capture copy-protected HDMI sources. Confirm that your source provides a supported, unprotected signal and that you have permission to record the content.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/1850/0947/files/square-image_e9a62ed0-986b-4f05-9a71-b59f4aee3650.jpg?v=1792739199
